The following excursions were offered as part of the conference program (afternoon of January 23):

Visit to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Ski Jump

Ski Jump

The astonishing almost free-floating and newly reconstructed ski jump awaits participants at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympic Ski Stadium. The ski jumpers’ unique view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen rewards those who climb the many steps to the top. An absolute highlight of any Garmisch-Partenkirchen visit!

Igloo building and “Glühwein” expedition

Construction of an igloo or a snow sculpture is not rocket science! Some logical thinking and team work are the keys to success. However, basic knowledge of statics and technology won’t hurt for some constructions, such as company logos. There is no limit to your creativity.

The expedition is well equipped with special burners, aluminum tableware and hot spiced wine / tea. But whether the other ingredients will be turned into a fine-tasting hot pun ch, is entirely up to the participants. Will "too many cooks spoil the broth ..."?

General remarks

Please remember to bring appropriate clothing. These are outdoor activities and the weather in Garmisch-Partenkirchen can be very cold in January.

Please refer to our venue information and Garmisch-Partenkirchen Tourism for further local sights that you may visit on your own account.
